A committee of inter-disciplinary medical professionals, including oncology nurses, social workers, patient navigators and personnel from several hospitals determines eligibility to receive a grant. These volunteers meet on the second Monday of each month to review applications received the previous month. Each application must be reviewed and vetted by two members of the committee. Grant checks are issued to approved applicants within one week of the meeting.
A Ray of Hope grant allows recipients the dignity of managing grant funds however they see fit.
