CREATE YOUR PLANNED GIFT
The simplest way to leave a legacy is through your will or living trust. You can modify this sample language; please consult your attorney for advice tailored to your situation:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to the Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation, a Colorado nonprofit corporation, (insert dollar amount, percentage of estate, or description of property) for the benefit of Colorado Cancer Patients.”
You can make a gift of unused retirement assets. Simply contact the administrator of your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified plan and designate the Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation as a beneficiary.
You can donate land, residential, or commercial property, and avoid the hassle and expense of ongoing upkeep. You can also sell real property to the Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation below the appraised value, take a tax deduction for the discounted amount, and keep the cash.
